In the media: Professors work to turn algae into biofuel
Joining the quest for alternative fuels, the Feedstock to Tailpipe Initiative is a multidisciplinary team at the University of Kansas. The team, which includes College of Liberal Arts and Sciences faculty, is trying to turn algae into biofuels.
Val Smith, professor of ecosystem ecology, has researched and implemented ways to turn algae production into an ecosystem rather than a crop as part of the initiative.
