It can be hard to part with things, especially those with an emotional attachment. For some, as they age this process becomes even harder. Why is it so hard to get rid of possessions for some older adults?
David Ekerdt, professor of sociology and director of the University of Kansas Gerontology Center, has researched why older adults struggle getting rid of their stuff and how this affects them. Recently, he has been featured in several prominent media outlets for this research.
